Job description

Daycare Shuttle Bus Driver
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable Daycare Shuttle Bus Driver to join our Pediatric Day Healthcare Center (PDHC) team. In this unique dual role, you'll safely transport medically fragile children while also assisting in the classroom as a Nursing Assistant/Aide, providing support to our clinical team and helping create a fun, engaging environment for our patients.
Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • Split Shift:
    • Approximately 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM
    • Approximately 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
  • No nights or weekends
Driver Responsibilities
  • Safely transport pediatric patients between their homes and the Pediatric Day Healthcare Center.
  • Partner with the transport nurse during daily pick-up and drop-off routes.
  • Assist children with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
  • Secure wheelchairs, medical equipment, and safety restraints as needed.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Assist with transportation for approved field trips and activities.
Classroom & Patient Care Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care and supportive services to children from birth through age 8/9 in a developmentally appropriate setting.
  • Assist nurses with daily care according to physician orders.
  • Help children participate in classroom activities that encourage learning, socialization, and development.
  • Assist with feeding, hygiene, mobility, and other daily care needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary care team.
