What You Will Do
  • Deliver training sessions in person or virtually to groups of 10 or more people.
  • Build and maintain proficiency in required technical skills, including electronics, torque, safety-wire, and soldering.
  • Follow internal processes and training standards to create and deliver engaging learning content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address complex or competing priorities.
  • Foster strong partnerships with customers, peers, and senior leaders while executing all aspects of training delivery.
  • Participate in projects focused on creating, updating, or revising training materials.
  • Provide solder-related subject matter expertise to support factory personnel.
  • Support training needs during off-shift hours, including occasional early-morning, evening, or weekend sessions, to ensure production teams receive timely and effective training and to maintain continuity across all manufacturing shifts.

  • Build strong technical expertise in electronics, torque, soldering, and safety-wire techniques through hands-on instruction and collaboration with experienced trainers.
  • Deliver effective technical training aligned with ITD methodologies, adult learning theory, training standards, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Partner across diverse teams and support multiple production shifts while contributing to an ITD culture where everyone has something to share and everyone has something to learn.
  • Provide feedback which improves training materials that meet evolving factory and customer requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Alternatively, 4 years of equivalent military experience with emphasis on technical instruction and familiarity with military specifications.
  • Experience delivering technical instruction
  • Ability to achieve and maintain IPC instructor certifications within the required timeframes:
  • IPC J-STD-001 Standard for Soldering (within 90 days of hire)
  • IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies (within 180 days of hire)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Wiring Harness Manufacturer's Association (within 180 days of hire)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum (within 180 days of hire)
  • IPC 7711/7721 Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies (within 12 months of hire)

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior hands-on experience with soldering, electronics, torque application, safety-wire techniques, or similar technical skills.
  • Experience working both independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience delivering technical instruction to groups of ten or more participants.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Previous IPC solder certification.
  • Experience using or administering a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Active DoD security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
