Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist
Job Description
The Learning and Development Specialist supports the enhancement of workforce development and education initiatives by maintaining and optimizing learning systems, programs, and digital competency platforms. This role provides essential support to the Education team through the coordination and management of processes, programs, and projects that advance staff education, professional development, and regulatory compliance within a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of educational programs, learning management systems, and the digital competency platform.
- Assist with the utilization and maintenance of various learning systems and programs to enhance workforce development and education initiatives.
- Provide support to the Education team by coordinating and managing education-related processes, programs, and projects.
- Support the delivery of training and consultation to leaders, educators, and staff on education programs, learning systems, and related tools.
- Create, assign, and maintain computer-based learning (CBL) content and curriculum assignments, ensuring accuracy, usability, and alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop, review, and maintain education and competency initiatives that align with organizational and departmental goals, regulatory requirements, and best-practice standards.
- Coordinate professional development programs and initiatives by organizing programs, resources, and learning opportunities that promote staff growth and development.
- Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of programs and training initiatives, using data and feedback to recommend improvements that enhance learning outcomes and user experience.
- Support organizational compliance by assisting with mock audits, maintaining accurate learning and competency documentation, and ensuring content meets regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provide administrative and operational support for educator-focused initiatives, including programs such as an Educator Academy.
- Support nursing professional development and education initiatives through effective coordination and system support.

Essential Skills
- Experience working with learning management systems and learning and development processes.
- Experience in the healthcare industry or a similar regulated environment.
- Proficiency with content management systems and documentation related to implementation and quality improvement.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail when managing learning content, assignments, and documentation.
- Ability to support and optimize learning systems and digital competency platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with subject matter experts, leaders, educators, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple programs, projects, and initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to use data and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business management, healthcare management, human resources, or a related field.
- Professional certification in talent or learning and development-related areas (or progress toward such certification).
- Experience in human resources or a related field, supporting training, education, or workforce development initiatives.
- Familiarity with Oracle or similar enterprise systems used in learning or human resources environments.
- Understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards relevant to healthcare education and competencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and a learner-centered approach.
Work Environment
This position is primarily onsite within a healthcare setting, with the possibility of a hybrid schedule allowing one day per week to work from home, depending on business needs. The role involves regular use of learning management systems, digital competency platforms, Microsoft Office, and other enterprise tools such as Oracle. Work is collaborative and cross-functional, involving frequent interaction with educators, leaders, clinical staff, and other departments. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
