Scope

The Learning & Development Trainer II delivers high-impact, multi-modal training experiences across all stages of the agency journey—from onboarding to ongoing development—to strengthen brand alignment, drive adoption of best practices, and develop a winning mindset. Leveraging adult learning principles and innovative instructional design, this role creates and facilitates engaging, results-oriented learning that improves performance, enhances customer satisfaction, and supports Brightway’s strategic growth. Regular needs assessments, content updates, and continuous improvement efforts ensure that training remains relevant, data-driven, and aligned with business priorities.

Job Responsibilities

· Design and deliver blended learning experiences including virtual instructor-led training (VILT), in-person workshops, eLearning, videos, job aids, leader guides, webinars, and other formats.

· Develop goal-driven content using instructional design models such as ADDIE, in collaboration with L&D teammates and subject matter experts.

· Facilitate engaging training sessions on topics including insurance sales, systems, leadership, customer service, and agency operations.

· Customize training schedules to minimize business disruption and support unit and franchisee performance goals.

· Regularly assess learner needs and feedback to continuously improve training content and delivery methods.

· Utilize the LMS and other technologies to deploy interactive, multi-modal learning and manage content updates.

· Promote peer learning and mentorship through forums, coaching, and participation in Brightway’s mentoring programs.

· Conduct follow-up assessments and analyze training data, surveys, and KPIs to measure impact and effectiveness.

· Proactively identify workflow, process, or service improvements that enhance training outcomes, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

· Maintain accurate and current training documentation, including procedure manuals and departmental learning materials.

· Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders and stakeholders to align training efforts with company goals and shared objectives.

· Serve as a learning ambassador, representing Brightway at internal and external events such as conferences and panels.

· Document training activities and results in internal systems with accuracy and timeliness.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills, Licenses, Certifications

· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, One Drive, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint)

· Proficient in basic IT troubleshooting, system setup, and navigation – and ability to teach to others

· Beginner level instructional design experience

· Content development experience desired

· Able to gather and analyze complex facts and data, draw inferences, weigh alternatives and present logical solutions

· Exceptional facilitation skills in classroom and virtual settings

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

· Property and Casualty (or state equivalent) insurance license preferred

· Minimum of 3+ years insurance experience in Personal and/or Commercial Lines (Commercial experience highly preferred)

· Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in Training (or related field)

· Prior Manager or Producer-level experience within an insurance agency preferred
