It's a strong fit for someone who can balance hands-on testing, technical analysis, project leadership, and team development.
Responsibilities
  • Lead QA planning, coordination, and execution for assigned ICE trading system projects, releases, enhancements, and production support initiatives.
  • Define test strategy, scope, timelines, resource needs, dependencies, data requirements, risks, and release-readiness criteria.
  • Review business, functional, and technical requirements to identify gaps, clarify expected behavior, and ensure adequate coverage of trading workflows and system functionality.
  • Design, execute, and oversee functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Create and maintain test cases that validate trading workflows, data inputs, calculations, APIs, messaging, downstream integrations, and expected outputs.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data, support backend testing, investigate defects, and confirm database-level results.
  • Organize and maintain manual test cases, regression suites, test evidence, and traceability in Xray, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Identify automation candidates, contribute to automated coverage, and collaborate with automation resources.
  • Coordinate day-to-day testing across the QA team, keeping priorities, assignments, risks, blockers, and status clearly communicated.
  • Train and mentor QA team members through domain knowledge sharing, test-case reviews, and feedback that reinforces quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, evidence (screenshots, logs, SQL findings), impact, and severity.
  • Verify fixes, perform targeted regression testing, and provide input into release-readiness decisions.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, business analysts, project managers, support teams, and QA leadership throughout the SDLC and release process.

Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance or testing, including experience leading workstreams or projects.
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write and execute queries for data validation, backend testing, troubleshooting, and defect investigation.
  • Experience testing trading systems, financial applications, workflow-based applications, or enterprise software.
  • Hands-on experience with Xray and Jira for test management, execution, defect tracking, reporting, and traceability.
  • Working knowledge of the SDLC and QA processes test strategy, planning, execution, regression testing, and defect management.
  • Proven ability to review requirements, define test scenarios and expected results, document acceptance criteria, and raise risks or gaps early.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across front-end, backend, database, API, messaging, and integration layers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, including clear documentation of defects, test evidence, risks, dependencies, and release status.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor QA team members and foster a collaborative, accountable, delivery-focused team.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience
  • Domain knowledge of ICE technology, trading systems, and trading workflows.
  • Automation experience with Playwright or comparable toolsets.
