Do you want to be part of an energetic, high-performing team tackling challenges that directly impact national security? Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is a world-renowned multidisciplinary research institution, home to some of the brightest minds and most advanced technology in the world.
The Production Assurance (PA-2) team ensures that all products within the Weapons Production Directorate meet or exceed stringent quality requirements. Our responsibilities include Weapons Supply Chain Quality, Assessments, Supplier Management, Issues Management, Continuous Improvement, Metrics, Requirements Management, and Software Quality Assurance.
We are seeking candidates with experience in assessments and supplier evaluations. Depending on your skills and experience, management will screen applicants and place them on the team where they can make the greatest impact.
Quality Assurance Analyst 2 ($80,400 - $127,900)
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessments: Conduct audits and assessments of weapons production programs to ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements.
Supplier Evaluations: Serve as a certified auditor and assist lead auditors in evaluating weapons suppliers.
Quality Assurance Analyst 3 ($96,600 - $158,00)
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessments: Lead and support audits and assessments of weapons production programs to ensure full compliance with contractual quality requirements.
Supplier Evaluations: Conduct annual or triennial evaluations of weapons-related suppliers. Lead and support supplier assessments and audits, including planning, executing, and reporting audits, as well as developing audit and assessment checklists and reports.

Quality Assurance Requirements: Working knowledge and experience with quality assurance requirements, policies, and procedures, such as NAP 401.1 and DOE O 414.1D, including flow-down of requirements to customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Initiative and Collaboration: Demonstrates the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, managing responsibilities with minimal supervision while contributing to shared goals.
Customer Service and Communication: Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills to support customer service excellence, quality standards, and organizational objectives.
Decision Making: Experience supporting and/or making effective decisions while understanding technical risks.
Travel: Ability to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to support supplier evaluations.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires US Citizenship.
Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (QA Analyst 3):
In addition to the requirements for QA Analyst 2:
Quality Assurance Requirements: Advanced knowledge and practical experience with quality assurance requirements, policies, and procedures, including NAP 401.1 and DOE O 414.1D, and flow-down of requirements to customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Initiative and Leadership: Demonstrates the ability to work independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments while effectively leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Customer Service and Quality Focus: Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and delivering responsive, service-oriented support.
Decision Making: Advanced ability to direct a team, prioritize objectives, and ensure accomplishment of team goals.
Travel: Ability to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to support supplier evaluations.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which typically requires US Citizenship.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Quality Assurance Analyst 2 (QA Analyst 2):
Requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly relevant to the position.
Quality Assurance Analyst 3 (QA Analyst 3):
Requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly relevant to the position. (Postgraduate coursework may be desirable at this level.)
Desired Qualifications:
Quality Assurance: Knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, design operations, and fabrication processes.

Work Location : The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
Note To Applicants : This position requires enrollment in the Human Reliability Program which is a security and safety reliability program to ensure that individuals who have access to certain materials, nuclear explosive devices, facilities and programs meet the highest standards of reliability and physical and mental suitability. It includes a thorough screening process covering credit checks, background screening, initial and random drug/alcohol screens, medical, and psychological evaluations
Due to federal restrictions contained in the current National Defense Authorization Act, citizens of the People's Republic of China - including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau - as well as citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea, and the Russian Federation, who are not Lawful Permanent Residents ("green card" holders) are prohibited from accessing facilities that support the mission, functions, and operations of national security laboratories and nuclear weapons production facilities, which includes Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance, and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
