Who You Are
The Lead Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality of software products through a combination of automated and manual testing strategies. This role, reporting to the Software Development Manager, requires expertise in developing and maintaining an automated test framework using GitLab, Selenium, and Python.
The Lead Software QA Analyst creates and exercises test plans and has good working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within retail and computer systems. This position is responsible for developing streamlined testing procedures used by the Quality Assurance (QA) team. They are considered the Subject Matter Expert on one or more complex aspects of the application (e.g. payment processing, product management, inventory). The Lead Software QA Analyst assists in developing project plans for the team.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of an automated test framework using GitLab, Selenium, and Python
  • Create and execute detailed test scripts for product enhancements, break-fix items, field patches, and third-party applications using a mix of automated and manual testing techniques
  • Mentor and guide junior QA Analysts in automated and manual testing methodologies
  • Collaborate closely with the Software Development Manager to align QA strategies with development goals
  • Implement streamlined testing procedures to maximize efficiency in both automated and manual testing
  • Oversee project plans and estimates for QA tasks, guiding other team members
  • Step in for the department manager when needed, overseeing QA team operations
  • Manage assigned projects effectively, maintaining clear communication regarding scope, status, and expectations
  • Provide comprehensive reports on testing activities and outcomes

What You Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's Degree or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or over 6 years of relevant QA experience
  • 4+ years of experience in automated testing using Selenium and Python
  • 3+ years of experience working with GitLab or similar CI/CD tools
  • Proficiency in both automated and manual testing methodologies within retail and computer systems environments
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to lead QA processes and mentor junior staff
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
  • Possess the accountability and personal responsibility to own and drive results
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Point of Sale (POS) experience
  • Possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and logical problem-solving skills

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $89,000 - $110,000/annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on several factors including geographical location, skills, education, certifications, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements in addition to a full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits (401(k) eligibility, PTO), dependent on the position. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will" position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department performance, and market factors.
