Description

Sycamore Meadows Apartments is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance to oversee maintenance operations at our Affordable Housing Community in Ypsilanti MI.


The ideal candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, unit turns, and the ability to lead and support our maintenance team.


Essential Functions:

  • Respond and complete residential service requests in a timely manner
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties and unit inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, masonry and landscaping items, as necessary.
  • Perform turnover of apartments, including cleaning, painting, carpet shampooing and other repairs as necessary. Ensure ready inventory of move-in ready units.
  • Obtain bids, and assist Community Manager in engaging outside contractors, when necessary and supervise their work. Verify that work has been performed and completed to company standards.
  • Identify actual and potential maintenance problems, including potential liability and workplace hazards, take appropriate actions to handle the problems.
  • On-call responsibility must be available for emergency calls after hours and on weekends and holidays.
  • Maintain snow removal, cleaning and maintenance of grounds, including common areas
  • Provide residents with outstanding customer service

Requirements

  • 3+ years supervisory maintenance experience required
  • HVAC (EPA) Certification required
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state and local codes (including Fair Housing and EEO laws) and proper safety procedures
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry repairs and other related areas.
  • Availability to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced and sometimes demanding work environment.
