What does a Lead Front Desk Representative do?

A Lead Front Desk Representative oversees the daily operations of a front desk team, ensuring excellent customer service for guests or clients. They manage scheduling, train new staff, handle escalated customer concerns, and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed. In addition to performing standard front desk duties like checking in guests and answering inquiries, they often act as the main point of contact between front desk staff and management.

How does a Lead Front Desk Representative typically balance administrative duties with supervising the front desk team?

A Lead Front Desk Representative often splits their time between handling daily administrative tasks—such as scheduling, reporting, and managing guest inquiries—and providing guidance and support to the front desk staff. This balance requires strong organizational skills and the ability to delegate tasks effectively while ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained. Regular communication with team members and other departments is key to resolving issues promptly and maintaining a smooth front desk operation. Many leads also conduct brief training sessions, coach team members, and monitor performance to encourage professional growth within the team.
