What is a lead collector?

Lead Collectors are professionals responsible for gathering and managing potential customer information, often referred to as 'leads,' for businesses or organizations. They use various methods such as online forms, event sign-ups, cold calling, or digital marketing campaigns to identify and record individuals or companies who may be interested in a product or service. Lead Collectors play a crucial role in the sales process by ensuring a steady flow of qualified prospects for sales teams to contact and convert. Accurate and organized lead collection helps businesses increase their chances of acquiring new customers and growing revenue.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lead collector, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lead Collector, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in lead generation or sales, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, lead tracking software, and data entry tools is typically required. Excellent communication, persistence, and the ability to build rapport help you stand out in this role. These skills ensure efficient lead qualification, higher conversion rates, and productive collaboration with sales teams.

What are some common challenges faced by lead collectors, and how can they be effectively managed?

Lead Collectors often encounter challenges such as maintaining high-quality data, reaching potential leads efficiently, and balancing quantity with quality. To manage these, it's important to use reliable CRM tools, verify lead information regularly, and collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to align on target criteria. Staying organized and proactive in communication helps ensure leads are both relevant and responsive, ultimately improving conversion rates and team performance.

Job description

About Veriswap
Veriswap is a barter marketplace for trading cards, operating within the $10B+ sports card secondary market. Our founding team comes from Columbia (ex-finance) and Brown (ex-Google). Together, we are building something truly exciting and are looking for driven individuals to help shape the future of collectibles.
What You Bring
  • Passion and deep knowledge about high end sports cards (completed sales, industry trends, collector psychology, etc)
  • 5+ years of customer support and / or sales experience

  • Speed and responsiveness at all hours of the day

Requirements
Responsibilities
  • Make VIPs feel extreme hospitality, and that we are trusted advisors in their card process, whether that means texting them, planning special events, meeting them one by one, delivering cards to their doorstep

  • Motivate VIP users to complete more trades
  • Educate and give fair advice on cards

What you'll get from Us
  • Autonomy and ownership on projects that matter
  • Opportunity to work with some of the most passionate collectors on our platform
  • $200/month wellness stipend
  • 401(k) retirement benefits
