The Role
The Lead, Business Development is responsible for driving long-term revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities in new markets, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding the company's market presence. This role combines market analysis, relationship management, technical analysis, and strategic planning to convert opportunities into sustainable revenue.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify trends in materials markets, white-space opportunities, risks, market sizes, and technology requirements

  • Assemble business cases, capital requirements, product lifecycles, and financial characteristics into presentations for leadership review

  • On approval, create and execute business development and growth strategies aligned to company objectives and competencies

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in selected markets

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, industry thought leaders, and key stakeholders

  • Lead negotiations and close deals that meet revenue, margin, and strategic goals

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Technology Development, New Product Development, and Manufacturing to develop business cases, proposals, commercial agreements, and development plans

  • Maintain accurate business development timelines and business valuation benchmark schedules, promote these tools both inside and outside the company to advance the milestones of selected products

  • Represent the company at industry events, customer and critical supplier meetings, and partner engagements

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline health and growth initiatives

What We Seek
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (Technical + MBA preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic roles

  • Proven track record of identifying and closing new business opportunities

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to analyze market data and translate insights into action

  • Experience working in and with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B, technology, manufacturing, or industrial markets

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)

  • Experience managing strategic partnerships or complex commercial agreements

  • Ability to connect and influence managers and executives of F100 to F500 companies to drive solutions through development and qualification to high-volume market release
