Job description

This position is hybrid, with an onsite expectation of three (3) days per week after completion of training. The training period requires onsite work five (5) days per week.
Help shape the next generation of physicians while keeping medical education running seamlessly. The Clerkship Coordinator plays a pivotal role in delivering a smooth, compliant, and well-supported clerkship experience. This position coordinates complex rotation schedules and high-volume communication across faculty, residents, and medical students, ensuring each learner is placed appropriately and knows their preceptor and expectations. With a recurring cycle of student blocks throughout the year, you'll also support timely evaluations and grading while helping keep the clerkship program aligned with accreditation standards. Ideal candidates are detail-driven, service-minded, and comfortable coordinating in a dynamic academic and clinical environment.

Job Summary
The Clerkship Coordinator is responsible for administration of the clerkship program as defined by the clerkship curriculum established by the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWBSOM) and Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation guidelines.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinates educational schedules, including the annual clerkship calendar, medical student rotations, and department orientation activities.
  • Provides administrative support for the department and serves as a liaison with the UGME office at Beaumont and Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
  • Assists with maintenance of the clerkship curriculum and supports compliance with LCME accreditation requirements.
  • Ensures clerkship evaluations are completed in a timely manner and maintains evaluation data and documentation in required systems.
  • Serves as the primary departmental contact for medical students and assists with issue resolution as needed.

Qualifications
Required
  • Required Associate's Degree; or high school diploma with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Medical Administration.

Preferred
  • Experience in Medical Education
