Northeast College Prep is seeking dependable, positive, and student-centered Lunch and Recess Supervisors to help create a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment for students during lunch and recess. This position is ideal for college students, parents or caregivers seeking work during school hours, retirees, or anyone looking for meaningful part-time employment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervise students during lunch and recess to ensure a safe, orderly, and respectful environment.
  • Reinforce the school's PREP expectations: Pride, Responsibility, Excellence, and Perseverance.
  • Build positive relationships with students while encouraging respectful behavior and inclusive play.
  • Help students resolve minor conflicts and communicate concerns to school staff when needed.
  • Monitor student safety and respond appropriately to accidents or emergencies.
  • Assist with lunchroom and recess routines, including transitions and indoor recess as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work positively with elementary and middle school students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.

Preferred
  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish or Somali.

Schedule
This is a part-time position following the school calendar. Two daily shifts are available:
  • 10:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
  • 10:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

Compensation
Starting pay is $16.37 per hour. Higher starting wages may be considered based on relevant experience and qualifications.
