POSITION INFORMATION
  • Baker School District is currently seeking a candidate for an Elementary Vice Principal or a Dean of Students - TOSA at South Baker Intermediate.
  • This 205-day position is a 1.0 FTE as an Elementary Vice Principal or a 175-day position as a Dean of Students - TOSA.
  • Start date; July 1, 2026.

POSITION SUMMARY - VICE PRINCIPAL
Support the building principal in providing leadership at the school site by providing curriculum and instruction leadership, maintaining overall school site operations; receiving, distributing and communicating information to enforce school, District and State policies; maintaining safety of school environment; coordinating site activities; communicating information to staff; and addressing situations, problems and/or conflicts that could negatively impact the school. Functions include establishing a climate conducive to learning, planning and coordinating programs, effecting change, and decision making. Position includes assisting building principal in evaluating classified and licensed employees, maintaining staff accountability according to best practices and district policy.
POSITION SUMMARY - DEAN OF STUDENTS - TOSA
The Dean of Students - TOSA collaborates with the administrative team for the overall leadership at the school. They assist the principal in leading and promoting the educational vision of the building and the talent development of building staff. This position also supports students in developing positive and effective social behaviors, supports teachers in managing classroom processes and creating effective management; and supports parents in communicating their needs and resolving concerns. The Dean of Students - TOSA reports to the building principal and does not supervise employees.

CONTRACT INFORMATION - VICE PRINCIPAL
  • Annual Salary Range on the 2026-2027 Administrative Salary Schedule is $99,644 - $123,863 based upon 205 days and on years of experience.
  • Baker School District allows all school district administrative experience years (excluding substitute experience) to be used in placing the administrator on the salary schedule.
  • Baker School District 5J offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package with multiple choices available to employees. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, long-term care, tax-deferred retirement savings plans, and more. In addition, the District shall pay the six percent (6%) employee contribution (PERS) required by ORS 238.200 and ORS 238A.330.

CONTRACT INFORMATION - DEAN OF STUDENTS - TOSA
  • The annual certified salary schedule for the 2026-2027 school year is $62,736 - $90,467 for 1.0 FTE for employees with an unrestricted teaching license ($47,053 annual salary for employees with an Emergency/Restricted Teaching License). Baker School District allows all teaching experience years within the U.S. (substitute years not included) and education to be used in placing the teacher on the salary schedule. Currently, teacher contracts are approximately 175 days with a four-day work week. Certified staff report for approximately one Friday per month for meetings and PD activities.
  • Baker School District 5J offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package with multiple choices available to employees. Benefits offered include medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, long term care, tax-deferred retirement savings plans, and more. In addition, the District shall pay the six percent (6%) employee contribution (PERS) required by ORS 238.200 and ORS 238A.330.
