Position: Laundry Aide (Part-Time)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (20 hours per week)

Essential Functions:

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, hang, and distribute resident clothing, linens, towels, and facility laundry in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Ensure resident laundry and facility linens are handled accurately and returned to the correct resident room, apartment, or designated storage area in a timely manner.
  • Inspect laundry for stains, damage, wear, or missing labels, and report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Follow infection control, sanitation, and standard precautions when handling soiled laundry, contaminated items, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Operate laundry equipment safely and correctly, including washers, dryers, irons, and folding equipment, according to manufacturer guidelines and facility policy.
  • Clean and maintain laundry equipment, lint traps, carts, work surfaces, and the laundry area to promote a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
  • Monitor and stock laundry supplies, including detergent, disinfectant, and linen inventory, and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishment.
  • Use proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques when moving laundry bags, carts, and supplies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity, privacy, and personal property of residents at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members regarding laundry needs, special requests, and service concerns.
  • Assist in supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment consistent with RCAC standards and resident-centered care.
  • Comply with all facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable state and local regulations related to laundry services in an assisted living setting.

  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the job.
