Job description

Atzinger Gardens is seeking a hands-on Landscape Foreman who is just as passionate about plants and horticulture as they are about building exceptional outdoor spaces. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, we are a values-driven, family-owned company specializing in high-end, design-forward residential gardens and landscapes.

Our Landscape Foreman will lead and oversee landscape maintenance and construction projects. The ideal Landscape Foreman candidate will have a passion for gardening, tree care, irrigation, and landscape design, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing excellent service to clients.
We offer a competitive compensation of $26.00-$33.00 hourly (based on experience) with weekly pay! We also offer a strong benefits package including paid vacation, paid holidays, medical insurance, PTO and a clear path for internal leadership growth.

Landscape Foreman Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in landscape construction, design/build, or professional gardening.
  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, construction, or related fields.
  • Experience supervising & leading teams in outdoor or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of horticulture, gardening techniques, tree care, irrigation systems, and general landscape maintenance.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance related to landscaping tools and machinery.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license preferred; background check and drug screen required.
  • Chauffeur's license/DOT card (ability to obtain prior to hire).

Landscape Foreman Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of landscape crews to ensure efficient project completion & quality work.
  • Oversee landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and fertilizing.
  • Lead landscaping and construction projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
  • Perform or assist with lawn care, gardening, tree care, irrigation installation and repair, and general horticultural practices.
  • Manage equipment maintenance and ensure all tools are used safely and properly.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills in landscaping, horticulture, and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all operations.

Schedule:

  • Four 10-hour days (approx. 7:00 am to 6:00 pm)
