Position Summary

Planterra Corporation is seeking a hands-on General Manager to take full operational ownership of our interior plantscaping business — horticulture, installations, routing, dispatch, and service delivery. This role exists to run the day-to-day business the way an experienced single-location operator runs a branch: tight scheduling, disciplined labor management, accountable crews, and a direct line of sight to what's profitable and what isn't. You will directly manage the Horticulture Manager, Service Manager, Warehouse Lead, and Operations Administrator, and report directly to the CEO and ownership on operational performance, staffing, and budget.

This is an Integrator-style role for the right operator: you take a clear vision and business plan and translate it into working systems, staffed teams, and measurable weekly execution. If you've run a branch, division, or crew-based operation where you owned the P&L, the schedule, and the people — and you're ready to build and lead your own team from the ground up — this is built for you.

What You'll Own

•       Full operational leadership of horticulture and operations departments — staffing, scheduling, budget, and performance.

•       Team leadership for installation crews and service technicians: hiring, training, disciplinary and promotion decisions.

•       Weekly routing and dispatch for service technicians across the client portfolio, resolving scheduling conflicts and coverage gaps in real time.

•       Installation project oversight from crew assignment through completion, tracking labor hours against budgeted profitability on every job.

•       Client escalation management for high-priority accounts, particularly plant health, replacement, and service-quality issues.

•       Departmental budget ownership: understand which clients and installations are profitable versus underperforming, and act on it.

•       Systems and reporting: use Aspire and/or ServiceTitan (or equivalent field-service platform) to track labor, routing efficiency, and job costing — and improve how the team uses it.

•       Regular, structured reporting to the CEO on operational health, staffing, budget variance, and company-wide challenges.

What You Bring

•       5+ years running a single location, branch, or division in a facilities, trades, or specialty-contractor business — examples: branch manager for a uniform/facilities service company, landscape or hardscape contractor, HVAC/mechanical contractor, or similar route-and-crew-based operation.

•       Direct experience leading installation crews and/or service technicians, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.

•       Proven ownership of routing and dispatch for a field workforce — you know what a good route looks like and how to fix a bad one.

•       Working knowledge of Aspire or ServiceTitan strongly preferred; comfort with field-service/route management software required.

•       A track record of owning a P&L or department budget and making decisions based on job/client profitability, not just activity.

•       Plant, horticulture, or green-industry background is a plus but not required — we can teach plants. We can't teach how to run a team and a schedule.

•       Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or similar operating frameworks is a strong plus.

•       A get-it-done, ground-level operating style: this is a role for someone who wants to be in the field and in the warehouse, not just in meetings.
