About the Position
The Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Professional Engineer (PE) will play a critical role in supporting field operations across heavy civil projects ranging from $500K to $10M. This position is based in St. George, UT and supports work throughout Southern Utah and the Four Corners region.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform construction staking and layout for earthwork, utilities, roadways, bridges, and site development projects
  • Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and project coordinate systems
  • Operate GPS (RTK), robotic total stations, data collectors, and related survey equipment
  • Interpret civil plans, specifications, and CAD files to translate design into accurate field layout
  • Verify grades, elevations, alignments, and slopes to ensure work is built within design tolerances
  • Conduct topographic surveys, boundary verification (as needed), and existing condition documentation
  • Provide quantity tracking support and assist with progress measurements
  • Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and survey documentation
  • Coordinate daily with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to support production and schedule
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company quality control procedures

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Survey Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor, or equivalent experience as a Professional Engineer in heavy civil construction
  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license
