What You'll Do

As our Rodman, you will support field survey operations while learning industry practices, developing technical skills, and assisting survey crews with project execution.

  • Field Crew Support
    Assist the Survey Party Chief in preparing and maintaining field equipment, supplies, and materials needed for daily operations.
  • Survey Monument Research & Recovery
    Help search for and locate existing boundaries, control points, and survey monuments used for project accuracy and verification.
  • Survey Equipment Operation
    Utilize and operate survey instruments and equipment while gaining experience with industry-standard tools and technologies.
  • Staking Preparation & Field Activities
    Prepare total stations, GPS bases, and additional equipment needed for daily staking and survey activities.
  • Quality Control & Mathematical Support
    Perform arithmetic and calculations with the Party Chief to help ensure accuracy and quality control throughout field operations.
  • Survey Procedures & Technical Development
    Learn and apply proper survey procedures while building foundational knowledge and field experience.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record
  • General understanding of geometry and mathematical principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and through two-way communication devices
  • Willingness to travel throughout Utah as projects may require work in other cities and counties
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions for extended periods
  • Physically capable of standing, kneeling, walking, climbing, lifting, carrying, and performing physical field activities including lifting up to 80 pounds over uneven terrain
