Part Time Summer Laboratory Intern

Description

EMSL is seeking a Part Time Summer Laboratory Intern for its location in Indianapolis, IN. The laboratory intern assists the lab in both administrative and sample preparation tasks. Essential duties and responsibilities include receiving environmental samples and entering Chain of Custody into LIMS system, handling, sorting, counting, and prioritizing incoming environmental samples under laboratory hood, reviewing paperwork for all incoming samples to ensure completeness and correctness, assisting as needed with sample preparation as needed, supporting all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposal, cleaning, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment as needed, and other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager.

Qualifications

Requirements: Pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in life sciences, authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship, some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus, proficient in MS Office, excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clientele, ability to work in a high volume environment, ability to stand and sit for various lengths of time, ability to lift up to 25lbs. Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Available Shift: Part Time-Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidate living within a commutable distance to Indianapolis, IN are encouraged to apply.

This is a seasonal position, starting in End of May/Early June and ending in mid to late August. The pay rate for this position is $13.00 per hour.
