Laboratory Intern Jobs in Utah (NOW HIRING)

As a Medical Laboratory Student Intern at our facility you will be joining a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:   

• You will be responsible for inoculating and cultivating microbiological specimens from all body sites according to protocol. 

• You will prepare and interpret gram stains. 

• You will be responsible for performing sensitivities on appropriate pathogens according to protocol. 

• You will discuss abnormal results and difficult analysis with department supervisor. 

• You will perform microbiology kit testing (Strep A, Strep B, Influenza, RSV, CD toxin, Giardia antigen). 

• You will document results in the laboratory computer system and perform/document quality control checks and instrument maintenance. 

Qualifications: 

• Must be enrolled in an accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program and be working towards an Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Technologist. 

• Complete course work from eligible university (CLS major) and apply/be accepted to internship. 

• Ability to correctly and safely operate automated Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Transfusion Medicine, and Urinalysis equipment. 

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English and have good verbal and written skills. 

• Good computer knowledge and keyboarding skills required. 

• This position is required to successfully pass a color blind test.
