Job description

The Building & Grounds- Labor Pool is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained facility and surrounding grounds. Reliability, consistent attendance, and a strong commitment to safety are critical to success in this role. This position performs physically demanding work in an industrial environment and supports overall facility operations.
REPORTING
The Building and Grounds Labor Pool reports directly to the Facilities Manager.
Accountabilities
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and docks
• Empty trash and recycling; maintain dumpster areas
• Operate grounds and cleaning equipment (blowers, trimmers, vacuums, forklifts, etc.)
• Support housekeeping and facility standards
• Assist with basic facility tasks (lighting checks, room setups, fire system cleanup)
• Follow assigned daily, weekly, and periodic task schedules
• Perform other duties as assigned
Safety & Reliability Expectations
• Safety is a core responsibility of this role
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Report hazards, injuries, and near-miss incidents immediately
• Participate in safety meetings, training, and investigations
• Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality; reliability is essential
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED required)
  • Minimum age: 18
  • Ability to perform physical work including lifting to 50 lbs., climbing, standing for long periods
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in cold and hot, humid, noisy, industrial environments
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
