Job description

This is a hands-on role that requires the ability and willingness to work in various areas of the plant. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the facility by performing essential manual labor tasks and operating equipment as needed.

Job Summary:  

General Laborer position requirements include, but are not limited to, general plant labor and clean-up of production areas; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to product nonconformity or other irregularity; being trained in various entry-level production positions and fills in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands. Operate small equipment; replace or assist other workers as needed or directed; and other duties as assigned by management. 
 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Safely and efficiently perform various housekeeping and manual labor tasks throughout entire plant
  • As directed by supervisor, fills in when needed in all areas of plant operation
  • Safely operates mobile equipment when necessary
  • Participates in any training that may be required to improve job performance or operating efficiency
  • Write work orders for necessary maintenance and safety concerns
  • Communicate to supervisor problems or areas of concern and coordinate work efforts with co-workers
  • Assist in performance of minor maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willing and able to work overtime and rotating shifts
  • Must possess basic ability to read and write
  • Should be capable of operation of mobile equipment
  • Should have experience working around moving machinery
  • Must be able to walk over rough terrain, stoop, reach, climb, kneel, and carry up to 60 pounds
  • Position includes work, both indoors and outdoors, involving temperature extremes, dust, noise and humidity
