DEPARTMENT: Racking

JOB TITLE: Racker/Unracker

REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor

SHIFT MID-DAY/HOURS: 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM Monday to Friday. 40+ hours per week over the course of 5 days, with occasional mandatory Saturday for OT.ย 

STARTING PAY: $17.51ย 

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for motivated and detailoriented individuals to join our Anodizing Department as Racking / Unracking Operator people who take pride in their work and want to be part of something meaningful. In this role, you are far more than someone who unracks aluminum; you become a trusted and valued member of a team that ensures our aluminum extrusion products are prepared safely, accurately, and with the care needed to meet Bonnell Aluminum's high standards.

THINGS YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Rack or Unrack aluminum extrusion finished parts carefully after the anodizing process, protecting each piece from scratches, dents, and other surface defects.

  • Rack aluminumย extrusionย partsย onto titanium racks with accuracy and care to ensureย properย spacing,ย alignmentย and secure attachment.ย 

  • Unrackย finished partsย after the anodizing process, protectingย themย from scratches, dents,ย or damage.

  • Inspect partsย duringย bothย rackingย andย unrackingย toย identifyย dents, scratches, blisters, die lines, streaks, bow, twist, orย imperfections.ย 

  • Recognize different aluminum sizes, shapes, and profiles to place each piece correctly.

  • Use measuring tools whenย requiredย to verify part lengths and confirm compliance with shop order requirements and Bonnell Aluminum quality standards.ย Use measuring toolsย to verify part lengths and ensure they meet quality standards.ย Lift and handle aluminum pieces and boxes weighing up to 30 pounds, and assist with heavier items as needed while maintaining a reliable, steady work pace.

  • Remain aware of jobrelated hazards, follow all safety policies and procedures, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including adherence to lockout/tagout practices when necessary.ย Follow all safety procedures, includingย required PPE and lockout/tagout practices.ย

  • Notify the Supervisorย immediatelyย of any quality issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards.ย Communicateย effectivelyย with leaders and team membersย and promptly report any concerns or hazards.ย 

  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Line Leaders, and coworkers whileย immediatelyย reporting any quality issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards-helpingย maintainย a safe, supportive, andย team focusedย work environment.ย 

THINGS YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.ย 

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A willingness to learn and grow.

  • Ability to pass a company background check and drug screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT | PHSYCIAL DEMANDS

  • Regular standing, walking, reaching, and use of hands.ย 

  • Occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 30-50 pounds, and occasionally over 100 pounds with partner.
