Job description

Job Summary - 
Under the direction of the Cath Lab Manager and Cath Lab Medical Director, the Cath Lab Tech will perform a variety of cardiac catheterization/special procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols; and will assist physician with cardiac catheterization/special procedures within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Individual is responsible for operating imaging equipment, administering appropriate medications within scope of practice, and monitoring the patient during procedures. Performs safe operation of x-ray equipment based on scope of practice and radiologic training. Participates in Performance Improvement activities, education initiatives, and national registries. Candidate is responsible for other duties as assigned. The Cath Lab Tech requires independent assessment, judgement, and decision making abilities.
 
Regulatory Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Certified by the State of Ohio to practice and administer radiation.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • At least one (1) year in an Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology Lab preferred.
  • RCIS certification a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
 
Language Skills
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
