Job description

Description:
Vista Medical Center is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RN who is eager to broaden their skills and gain valuable experience in a community hospital recognized as a certified Center of Excellence in multiple critical areas of patient care.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist cardiologists in performing diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care, including assessing and managing patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab and interventional radiology as needed.
  • Closely monitor patients for improvements or complications, administering medications as indicated, including moderate sedation during procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional catheterization, including circulating, monitoring, and recording procedures.
  • Interpret 12-lead EKGs, manage cardiac medications, and provide emergency management of cardiac patients.
  • Adhere to current clinical practice guidelines in cardiology and support secondary prevention efforts.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to gather data and identify patient needs.
  • Pre-procedure responsibilities include ensuring all clinically important aspects are checked before the patient enters the Cath Lab.
  • Assist physicians during catheterization procedures, angioplasties, pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures.
  • Understand and operate special devices, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, rotablators, AngioJets, thrombus aspiration systems, cutting balloons, and filter wires.

Qualifications, Desired Skills, and Experiences:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiology catheterization lab is preferred; ICU experience is also preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
  • Experience in advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and moderate sedation is required.
