Title: Lab Technician
Reporting Description: The Lab Technician reports to the Quality Manager.
Level of Responsibility: The Laboratory Technician is responsible for testing and evaluating special samples, preparing samples for analysis, and assisting the Lab Foreman on special projects.
Minimal Requirements::
Must have a high school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
Must have some knowledge of chemistry, math, and other sciences.
Some experience with laboratory techniques and equipment are desired. Should have some experience in processing minerals.
Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
Must be able to climb a ladder; must be capable of doing process evaluation trials in the plants when testing new processes or products.
Functions: Inspect all material visually to ensure uniformity, check labeling, collect, process, and analyze mineral samples according to set procedures. Document and store all information accurately. Be able to operate all equipment in the R&D facility. Perform other tasks as assigned.
