Position Name: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant
Pay rate: $17.20/hr
Location: Tucker GA 30084
Duration: 3-4-months contract with possible extension
Shift: First shift EST 11am-7:30pm
Job Description:
The Lab Assistant is responsible for performing various routine laboratory functions with precision and accuracy to support laboratory professionals and ensure efficient production.
Key Responsibilities:
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Sort and receive specimens in the department.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Prepare specimens at workstations for testing, including:
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Building worklists and aliquoting specimens.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Checking for clots and fibrin in specimens.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Inoculation and slide preparation.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Perform routine instrument maintenance on some lab equipment.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Prepare reagents and media as needed.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Conduct weekly radioactive wipe tests.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Change gas cylinders as required.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Follow all PPE requirements and adhere to safety regulations.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Maintain department records and files.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Record data, including temperature charts.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Utilize the laboratory computer system and PCs for lab operations.
ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Complete training and competency checklists as required.
