  • Must have the ability to exercise judgment in applying practices, procedures, and techniques to resolve clearly defined work-related issues.
  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (MT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.

OR

  • Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT) license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required.

What You Will Do:

Performs routine and special clinical laboratory tests on patient specimens, correlates and interprets data based on knowledge of techniques, principles and instruments.? Investigates problems, performs corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment, prepares reagents, instructs students and new employees, and performs data entry and interpretation of test results.?

  • Performs various laboratory diagnostic tests on patient specimens.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the operation and principles of departmental instrumentation.
  • Accurately interprets and reports laboratory test results.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, nursing staff, co-workers and other organizational staff.
  • Observes and follows established departmental environment of care and safety protocols and practices.
  • Attends departmental, organizational and continuing education meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
