In close partnership with the Director of Sales - Kroger, you will identify and develop strategic opportunities while strengthening relationships with customers and collaborating with internal teams. This role is instrumental in designing and executing initiatives that support the company's vision and financial objectives, helping us reach new levels of market leadership and sustainable growth. Strong category management skills and the ability to deliver engaging, customer-facing presentations are essential. Success in this position requires managing multiple priorities, building strong partnerships, and maintaining a focus on quality and results. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Business Development & Account Expansion Expand existing business by managing key accounts and leveraging new and existing relationships. Assist the Sales Director in identifying key divisional opportunities. Utilize the full extent of company resources to increase distribution and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction. Conduct key customer presentations and develop supporting materials with the marketing team. Represent the company at trade shows, distributor events, and retailer functions. Monitor and report on distribution, retail pricing, and competitive activity in a timely fashion. Category & Sales Management Build, update, and interpret multiple business metrics through weekly/monthly reporting. Implement Category Management best practices with designated brokers, distributors, and retail accounts. Use internal, syndicated, and customer data to generate external sales insights, recommend SKU rationalization, and identify market trends. Collaborate with the Sales Director to develop specific planograms. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication Partner with cross-functional teams including Category Management, Revenue Growth Management, Sales Operations, Marketing, Demand Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Finance, and HR. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with internal team members. Manage and report competitive activity such as pricing, promotions, and new product launches. Oversee customer forecasts, inventory, and demand planning. Financial Management & Administration Work with the Sales Director to achieve budgeted sales, profit, and distribution goals. Support the annual budget planning process. Manage assigned financial budgets, including trade deduction management. Complete all other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. Minimum 2+ years of successful experience in CPG category management or sales. Proven analytical skills, including expertise in Circana/Nielsen, Market 6, and 84.51 Stratum. Experience with Trade Point, 1WS/VIP, Kroger Supplier Hub, and Lavante is preferred. Prior experience with Kroger and Center Store is a plus. Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and operates effectively in a dynamic environment. A passionate sales professional with the ability to lead client calls and close sales. Operates with a high level of integrity and consistently models excellence. Exhibits exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and genuine enthusiasm for business growth. Self-motivated, curious, and able to work independently without extensive supervision. Proven track record of achieving goals, exceeding sales plans, and acquiring and growing new retail clients. Builds relationships quickly and leverages maturity and business acumen to make sound decisions. Working Conditions Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Up to 30% business travel may be required.
