KODELabs, headquartered in Detroit, Michigan is seeking to hire a full-time Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan. The role involves working with our sales team to further grow our platform in the global market and address our customer needs. As a sales engineer, you would provide our sales team technical support and guidance on RFP's, client meetings, and pre-sale technical discussions. You will also be responsible for supporting sales demos and presentations.

  • Provide technical support to the sales team to communicate services and client needs
  • Provide support to customers and resolves problems with services provided
  • Read construction project plans, drawings, designs, and specifications
  • Analyze RFIs and RFPs and draft responses and proposals
  • Architecture solutions and budget / pricing for potential projects
  • Develop demo environments for clients and partners
  • Develop proposals and technical architectures which address smart building use cases.
  • Understand various local communication protocols (i.e. MODBUS, BACnet, LON, etc.)
  • Understand various hardware and software technology used for building controls applications.

Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both in written and verbal
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Professional sales and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical products.
  • Proficient understanding of engineering drawings, floor plans, control schematics, and other construction related documents.
  • Excellent ability to read and respond to RFPs / specifications related to building systems and infrastructure.
  • Strong ability to apply engineering and technology principles to sales
  • Ability to travel for customer visits 25% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related fields.
