Job description

What we are looking for:

Prototyping Technician works with the product development team to set up various textile equipment in an effort to produce sample products based on preliminary engineering specifications.

Shift: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm with training on 1st shift for six months

What you will do:

  • Uses advanced knowledge of textile processes to set-up looms, knitting, or braiding machines to complete development runs.
  • Reads and interprets engineering specifications for transfer to machine needs.
  • Operates machines to run prototype samples and performs in-process adjustments to produce a quality product.
  • Follows all applicable standard operating procedures, work instructions, and R&D specifications.
  • Documents process steps to ensure future repeatability.
  • Works with operations team to scale-up sample runs.
  • Provides feedback to Yarn Prep to ensure warps and beams are created to specifications.
  • May assist knitting, weaving and braiding functions during peak periods and operate machines.

Who you are:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of textile processes is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to read/comprehend Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures, as well as protocols, and other established procedures.
  • Basic understanding of GMP and working within regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Moderate experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to multi-task change direction with shifting priorities.
