Job Description
A well-established textile manufacturer is seeking a Development Knitting Technician to develop and program legwear products based on seasonal, brand, and customer requirements. This position creates production-ready knitting programs, samples, manufacturing specifications, and product designs. The technician will also modify existing styles, troubleshoot production concerns, and provide technical support to manufacturing teams. This temporary role is ideal for someone with strong knitting technology knowledge and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and program new legwear products, seasonal designs, and sample orders
  • Create manufacturing specifications, style programs, bitmap files, and production standards
  • Modify existing styles to accommodate yarn, machine, pattern, or capacity changes
  • Program and test samples using new yarns, materials, and construction techniques
  • Troubleshoot fit, pattern, layout, machine capability, and production issues
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; four-year degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of yarn technology, knitting processes, machine capabilities, and textile raw materials
  • Strong understanding of product sizing specifications and manufacturing standards
  • Proficiency with computer applications and product development systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities accurately in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work the scheduled hours of 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
