Summer Day Camp Counselor
Department: Child Care
Employment Type: Seasonal (May-August 2026)
Pay Rate: $13.40/hour
Hours: Approximately 25-30 hours per week
Locations: Alliance, Canton City, Jackson, Lake (Hartville), Louisville, North Canton, and Plain Township
About the YMCA of Central Stark County
The YMCA of Central Stark County is an inclusive, nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Our Day Camp programs serve over 750 children daily across seven locations throughout Stark County. Camps are located in YMCA branches, school buildings, and standalone centers - with programming happening outdoors 50-70% of each day.

Summer Day Camp Counselors who are excited about spending their days building community with youth, thrive in a youth-centered environment, and serve as professional role models and adventure guides for campers in grades K-8.

Qualifications
  • At least 17 years old and a high school graduate (or equivalent) by May 26, 2026.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Available May through August 2026 (training and work dates vary by location).
  • Prior experience working with children (e.g., camp, childcare, tutoring, or coaching) preferred.
  • Energetic, flexible, and eager to create and promote FUN every day!
