Position Summary
The Kitchen Expo / Food Runner plays a key role in ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house team. This position is responsible for organizing and expediting food orders, ensuring plates are presented correctly, and delivering food promptly to guests while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Expediting & Communication
  • Act as the main point of communication between the kitchen and service team during service.
  • Organize tickets and ensure dishes are prepared and sent out in the correct order.
  • Confirm all plates match the ticket and meet presentation standards before leaving the kitchen.
  • Communicate any delays, modifications, or special requests to the service team and kitchen.

Food Running
  • Deliver food promptly and accurately to the correct tables.
  • Announce dishes to guests when appropriate and ensure proper placement.
  • Assist servers in maintaining a smooth and efficient dining experience.

Organization & Cleanliness
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo station.
  • Ensure trays, garnishes, and service tools are stocked and ready for service.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
