As a kindergarten paraprofessional, your responsibilities include providing kindergarten students with an environment that is safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate for their age. You work with children ages four to six and assist the classroom teacher in delivering their curriculum, managing the classroom, and creating teaching materials with clear objectives, such as for social and behavioral development. You enhance the instructional process, ensuring the children have fun, absorb the required material, and remain safe at all times. Other duties include some clerical work when you support the teacher in the creation and delivery of age-appropriate, hands-on activities, setting behavioral rules, any necessary procedures, and reporting health or safety concerns to the teacher immediately. You are also expected to be a role model for the students.
