National Account Sales Manager - Food Service

Fresh Mark is seeking an experienced National Account Sales Manager to own and grow our food service business under the Sugardale brand. This is a high-impact, results-driven role responsible for developing national distributor relationships, expanding chain and operator penetration, and driving sustainable volume across key food service channels.

You will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Operations to bring compelling solutions to market and deliver on volume and margin objectives. The right candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has a proven track record of building national food service accounts.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Own relationships with national and regional distributors (including broadline and specialty channels), driving distribution depth and pull-through at the operator level.
  • Identify and develop chain account and multi-unit operator opportunities across segments such as restaurants, healthcare, lodging, and contract/institutional foodservice.
  • Manage and optimize a network of food service brokers across assigned regions, ensuring alignment on priorities, accountability to targets, and strong ROI.
  • Apply category management principles to identify whitespace opportunities, grow share versus competition, and increase Sugardale distribution across accounts.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop compelling, data-driven presentations for distributors, chain, and operator sales calls.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Demand Planning to provide accurate volume forecasts and ensure order fulfillment aligns with customer delivery expectations and inventory levels.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective accounts, with documented action plans to convert and grow incremental business.
  • Leverage internal reporting tools (Power BI) and distributor POS data to track performance, identify trends, and present business reviews to key accounts.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive outside sales experience, with at least 23 years in food service sales (distributor, chain, or operator channels).
  • Direct experience in protein or meat-based categories is required; pork or smoked meats is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of calling on national or regional distributors (e.g., Sysco, US Foods, Gordon Food Service) and/or multi-unit chain operators.
  • Experience managing food service brokers and third-party sales support organizations.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Ability to analyze distributor POS data, syndicated data, and internal reporting (Power BI) to build business cases and account reviews.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present effectively at all organizational levels.
