Position Overview:

The Senior Key Account Manager - Amazon Retail is responsible for leading the strategic growth and profitability of the Amazon Retail business. This role develops and executes comprehensive sales strategies, leverages market and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities, and serves as a key advisor to marketing and cross-functional teams.

The Senior Key Account Manager drives revenue growth, optimizes product assortment, manages customer relationships, and collaborates across the organization to ensure successful execution of business objectives while maintaining channel integrity and profitability.

Essential Functions:

Amazon Business Growth & Account Management

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve annual sales, revenue, and profitability objectives.
  • Drive multi-million-dollar annual sales growth through effective management of the Amazon Retail business.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product assortment, increase market share, and capitalize on emerging consumer trends.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Amazon stakeholders and conduct regular business reviews.

Marketplace Strategy & Category Optimization

  • Manage Amazon product assortments, new item launches, and category expansion opportunities.
  • Create and optimize product listings, A+ content, and brand pages to improve visibility and conversion.
  • Analyze customer behavior, search trends, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and market gaps.
  • Develop pricing and promotional strategies that support revenue growth while protecting broader channel relationships.

Marketing & Advertising Partnership

  • Serve as the primary Amazon advisor to Marketing on advertising, promotions, content strategy, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to leverage consumer insights and market data to strengthen brand performance.
  • Evaluate advertising effectiveness and recommend strategies to maximize return on investment and brand visibility.
  • Support the planning and execution of promotional campaigns and product launches.

Analytics, Reporting & Strategic Insights

  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and customer insights to drive business decisions.
  • Develop and present weekly and monthly business reviews, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to leadership and Category Business Teams (CBTs).
  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities, risks, and areas for continuous improvement.
  • Provide actionable insights related to product offerings, pricing, inventory, and promotional strategies.

Financial, Inventory & Operational Management

  • Negotiate customer contracts, pricing agreements, advertising investments, and annual business terms.
  • Partner with Finance to manage budgets, spending, profitability, and business performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning, Replenishment, and Operations teams to ensure inventory availability and support sales objectives.
  • Proactively identify and communicate inventory, supply chain, and fulfillment risks while developing mitigation plans.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Development

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to execute business objectives.
  • Influence and drive alignment across cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Deliver customer presentations, business updates, and product training sessions.
  • Mentor and support sales team members by sharing best practices, coaching, and development opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of progressive sales, account management, or category management experience, with significant experience managing Amazon Retail accounts (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of sales experience in marine, outdoor, home improvement, automotive industries, or related industry (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years selling technical or engineered products (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven success managing large, complex retail accounts and multi-layered stakeholder environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Power BI a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive customer insights.
  • Proven territorymanagement experience, including call planning and pipeline development.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of basic financial statements.
  • Strong strategic and daytoday problemsolving abilities.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth with customers.
  • Strong creative problemsolving and criticalthinking abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing markets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Masters's degree preferred.
  • Deep understanding of Amazon Retail, Vendor Central, Amazon merchandising, and digital commerce strategies.
  • Meaningful sales or salesmanagement experience in the marine or fishing industry.

The hiring range for this position is103,200 - 144,000annually. The actual base pay offered will vary based on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
