Job description

Looking for flexible, meaningful part-time work that fits into your life?
KenCrest is hiring compassionate people to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their communities. Whether you're a student, a parent, semi-retired, or just looking to give a few hours of your week to something purposeful, we offer flexible shifts during the day, afternoon, and early evening - no overnights required. Some shifts are just a couple hours long; others can be combined into a fuller schedule based on your availability.
In this role, you'll help people build confidence, learn everyday skills, and access the community around them whether that's a trip to the grocery store, a visit to the library, or help getting to a job or doctor's appointment. You'll use your own car to provide occasional transportation, which is an important part of supporting someone's independence.
If you have patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping others thrive, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed. No healthcare or direct care experience is required, just a caring heart and a willingness to learn.
Things You Might Do:
  • Support individuals as they practice life skills like cooking, laundry, or using public transportation
  • Provide transportation in your personal vehicle for community outings, errands, or appointments
  • Help individuals build social skills and confidence in group or public settings
  • Assist with navigating everyday challenges and celebrating progress
  • Encourage independence while offering reliable, compassionate support

Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older (required)
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle (required) *Driver's License, insurance and registration must be aligned with state of permanent residence*
  • Willingness to use your vehicle to transport individuals when needed (required) *KenCrest offers standard mileage reimbursement
  • Clean background check, drug screen, and acceptable driving record (per state guidelines)
  • Experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, creativity, and a team-first attitude
