Position Summary:
The Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) serves as the point person at the community home for care-related and documentation-related assistance and expertise. This position supports and leads by example, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the home while assisting the Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Help lead and support staff during your shift, and share updates with the Program Manager.
- Help individuals with cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, and joining activities in the community.
- Give medications and follow care plans to support each person's health and behavior needs.
- Fill out paperwork to record daily activities, medical visits, and behavior notes.
- Talk and work well with individuals, families, coworkers, doctors, and others.
- Help schedule appointments and keep track of client money, house needs, and vehicle upkeep.
- Watch for health or safety problems and act fast if there's an emergency.
- Drive individuals to work, appointments, and other activities while following driving rules.
- Keep track of petty cash, record work hours, and help with office tasks when needed.
- Notice and report any behavior changes and suggest ways to improve care plans.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience working in direct care or a healthcare setting.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Able to pass background checks, drug test, and state-required clearances.
- Able to complete training like CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration.
- Can read, write, and follow directions in English.
- Good communication skills with coworkers, families, and medical staff.
