Job description

Overview
  • Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Junior System Administrator to provide support to the DOE Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) contract located in Germantown, Maryland.This position is ONSITE.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain software/hardware inventory records.
  • Perform purchasing duties from cradle to grave.
  • Perform client hardware installation and support.
  • Provide customer support for developed and maintained systems.
  • Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Assist in the security implementation and maintenance of all IT equipment, including managing anti-virus software, vulnerability scan reports, and log reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • US citizenship
  • Active DOE Q or DOD Top Secret security clearance or be able to obtain after hire.
  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Information Technology or similar degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office application skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently within a team concept.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements/processes.
  • Familiarity with basic IT technologies.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred:
  • Active Top Secret or Q Clearance is preferred.
  • Introductory level of experience of LAN/WAN technologies.
  • Experience with vulnerability and security scans and software, preferred Tenable Nessus.
  • Experience with virtualization.
