Software QA Analyst

Classification: FLSA Exempt

Reports To: Software QA Supervisor

Summary

The successful candidate will implement and oversee software testing, including design, implementation, execution, as well as debugging test processes. This position interfaces with the Development, Product, and Technical Service teams to influence the testability of products, research and implement test methodologies, identify, document, and execute test plans and test cases.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Development and Product teams during product design phase to assist with requirements review
  • Designs and executes manual tests to ensure proper operation and performance of software applications
  • Ensures continuous improvement of the Software Quality Assurance and Testing process and strategies by actively participating in process review sessions and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) meetings
  • Designs, develops, and implements test plans and test cases for new and enhanced software releases
  • Performs all aspects of validation and verification, including functional, regression, load, and system testing to ensure software meets or exceeds standards and end-user requirements
  • Ensures all explicit and implicit requirements are met during testing
  • Documents test runs and results for each product
  • Identifies and logs defects and issues found during testing, with detailed explanation, in defect/issue tracking system and ensures escalation to appropriate issue owners
  • Uses various tools effectively to assist in project completion, including but not limited to SQL, project management, and build tools.
  • Responsible for the appropriate accessing and handling of electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) as outlined by policy and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States (Indica Labs, Inc. does not sponsor work visas)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of QA testing methodologies and practices
  • Prior education or professional experience in Life Sciences is strongly preferred
  • Preference is given to applicants currently living in New Mexico


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Proficient skills in common business and office software (word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of databases and database query language, such as SQL
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to effectively communicate to various areas of the organization.


Location

This position reports to our headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, and is open to global applicants. Candidates currently residing within 100 miles of Albuquerque are considered for 100% in-office positions. Candidates currently residing outside of this area are considered for fully remote positions in their home state or country.
