Job description

General Description Assist with instructing recreational pom and dance classes for children ages 5 & up. Skills and performance routines taught to each of the four classes (K, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th grade, 5th grade & up). Participants perform at a high school basketball game and at the season-ending recital.

Work Schedule - One evening per week. Each class is 40 minutes in length. Thursdays from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Average of 1-3.5 hours per week, depending on the number of classes assisting. Searching for an assistant for the first 2 classes (4:30 pm to 6:30 pm) with the potential to assist additional classes until 8 pm if desired. Location: Classes held at the De Pere Community Center, 600 Grant St., De Pere, WI 54115 Essential Functions Assist instruct pom & dance classes for youth ages 5 & up in conjunction with the head instructor

May assist choreographing routines appropriate to age group; routines approximately 2 minutes in length. Assist with preparations for recital performances. Communicate with parents and maintain good PR with staff and public.

Identify and respond to participant behavior issues; document if necessary. Maintain appropriate safety measures for program participants Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Applicant should have knowledge of dance/pom terminology Possess the ability to perform advanced pom & dance skills Assist with choreographing pom & dance routines and progressively teach a specified age group Be energetic, enthusiastic, resourceful, and creative Possess the ability to work well with children and communicate effectively. Minimum Requirements & Physical Requirements At least 16 years of age Formal education not required Pom and dance experience is a must Previous teaching experience and experience working with children a plus.
