Software Development Engineering - Advisor IAbout your role:
At Fiserv, we are dedicated to transforming financial services technology to benefit our clients. As a Software Development Engineering - Sr Professional I, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.
What you'll do:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support Fiserv's business goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Perform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance.
Maintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.
Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you'll need to have

  • 6-8 years of current experience as a member of engineering teams in delivering resilient and high-volume technology solutions built in Java/J2EE.
  • Recent experience working with teams delivering with Java/Spring Frameworks, Spring Boot, Spring Batch
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on software development experience building RESTful API's including JSON over HTTPS.
  • 5+ years hands-on software development experience designing, writing, debugging, and testing object-oriented code.
  • Experience with Messaging Architectures (Kafka).
  • Experience with various relational database preferably Oracle.
  • Experience with Cloud native environment Azure and On-Prem Open shift cloud Containers Platform.
  • Experience with Python, Shell scripts.
  • Experienced in the day-to-day practicalities of Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies

Experience that would be great to have

  • 1+ year proficiency working with modern CI/CD and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in fintech or financial applications and payment processing systems and encryption protocols
  • Understanding of pattern languages & software algorithms.
  • Advanced knowledge of coding techniques contributing to the reliability, maintainability, readability, simplicity, performance, and testability of software.

How you'll work

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel

  • Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.
