Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate for Test Engineer, Radar Systems. The Test Engineer performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: test, installation, operation, maintenance and sustainability. Properly employs test assets into customer-driven test objectives. Performs functional analysis and timeline analysis. The engineer will present a deep understanding of testing philosophies and methodologies within an agile test environment.

  • Tasking includes RF chain analysis and radar system performance analysis, as well as all aspects of test execution.
  • Hands-on test, integration, and verification support across lab facilities requiring skills in algorithms, software, hardware, and networking.
  • Support technical publications in developing for customer releases test planning, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Support technical and functional leadership through the identification of risk.

This position is located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) and is within a commutable distance from Beavercreek, Fairborn, Dayton, and Riverside.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a self-starter, have the ability to consistently deliver at a high level with minimum supervision and maintain continuous communications with peers and upper management personnel
  • Ability to negotiate through conflicting demands for resources and manage time to drive overall organizational success
  • Ability to setup and support HITL test equipment, along with test customer setup including interfacing with data acquisition hardware / instrumentation
  • Develop requirement for HITL build-up and customer needs
  • Familiar with RF and electronic test equipment
  • Good analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Must be able and willing to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • CLEARANCE: Secret clearance minimum to start
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced security checks
  • Test Engineer Junior - 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
  • Test Engineer Mid - 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Test Engineer Senior - 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. 
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with either Radar or Electronic Warfare System design and/or testing desired.
Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
