Job description


Job Summary:
The Associate Investment Analyst applies broad theoretical investment and financial knowledge to support fixed income, equity, and alternative investment portfolio activities for Westfield affiliated companies. Working under close supervision, the role gathers data, prepares basic analysis, monitors assigned information sources, maintains reports, and drafts summaries for review by investment team members to support established portfolio processes and decision making.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists with assigned portfolio activities by gathering economic, sector, sub-asset class, security, fund, and manager information and organizing findings for review by investment team members.
  • Prepares basic analysis to support investment review activities, including issuer, credit, equity, alternative investment, performance, risk, liquidity, and valuation information using established methods.
  • Monitors assigned market activity, portfolio holdings, cash positions, issuer news, credit spreads, regulatory developments, and economic conditions; escalates notable observations to investment team members.
  • Updates and maintains existing financial models, portfolio reports, watch lists, and analytical tools to support understanding of business drivers, security performance, valuation, and risk-return considerations.
  • Supports portfolio construction, sub-asset class analysis, attribution, income variance analysis, and annual planning activities by compiling accurate data and preparing routine reporting materials.
  • Assists with approved trade support activities by preparing order information, coordinating required documentation, and tracking execution details under direction and established requirements.
  • Supports due diligence activities for new and existing investments, fund managers, brokers, third-party advisors, and technology providers by gathering information, completing initial analysis, and documenting findings for review.
  • Drafts written summaries, monthly results, sector review materials, ad hoc reports, and presentation support materials for review by investment team members and use with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies routine opportunities to improve assigned documentation, data quality, and reporting steps and supports approved updates within defined scope.
  • Participates in team strategy discussions, stakeholder calls, and assigned projects by providing data, documentation, and analysis support within defined scope.
  • Travels occasionally to support training, industry events, investment or economic research, special assignments, and meetings between office locations.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent training or work experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience applying quantitative, qualitative, financial, investment, credit, securities, portfolio, or research concepts to data, coursework, internships, or related work.

Hybrid - defined as working three or more days per week in the office
