Job Summary

The Jr. Purchasing Analyst is a member of Boyd's Purchasing Team. The primary responsibility of this position is to evaluate procurement data, manage tariff resolutions, and provide logistical insight to optimize purchasing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the analysis and maintenance of procurement and logistics data, including purchase orders, quotations, and invoices source catalogs; material rejection reports, tooling records, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles, procurement regulations and industry standards.
  • Serve as the liaison between organizations and vendors and develop sourcing strategies, cost analysis/standards, and quality metrics to ensure that the organization maintains a sustainable competitive advantage through its supply chain.
  • Work together with sales representatives, purchasing agents, and engineering department on new and existing sales, or when a problem arises.
  • Monitor shipments to guarantee on-time delivery and settle problems associated with undelivered goods.
  • Be knowledgeable in tariff activities and HST codes.
  • Applicants must be individuals that can work well with others and contribute in a team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 3+ years prior purchasing/supply chain experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and use of a PC.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work based on business needs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, to prioritize and work in a multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities under minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of common techniques for material handling
  • Previous manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements

  • Normal amount of sitting and standing; Ability to move around an office environment and on the production floor; Ability to work at a computer workstation; Ability to bend, twist, lift, reach. Ability to lift max. 40lbs periodically.
