Job description

Summary
OurSan Diego-based client is a highly sought after commercial general contracting company with exponential growth and exciting opportunities. They are seeking aProject Engineer (PE) or Jr. Project Managerto assist with current projects on hand, as well as future ones. You must be an accountable project engineer who will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnels performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Qualifications & Requirements
  • BS Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required
  • Proven working experience as a Project Engineer
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
  • Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Project management and supervision skills
  • Decision-making ability and leadership skills
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Experience with BIM or Revit and LEED Accreditation a plus
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment while maintaining teamwork and positive attitude
  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role required
