Your daily tasks may include updating project timelines, monitoring progress, and ensuring that technical standards are met. This role typically involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, attending meetings, and occasionally visiting job sites to track project status. It's an excellent entry point for developing technical expertise and project management skills within an engineering environment.

Can you become a project engineer with no experience?

Becoming a junior project engineer typically requires some related education or internship experience, as the role involves coordinating projects and understanding technical aspects. While entry-level positions may be available, having foundational skills in project management, engineering principles, or relevant certifications can improve chances of hiring without prior experience.

Join our team as a Project Engineer, where youโ€™ll play a hands-on role in delivering innovative engineering solutions that support critical gas infrastructure. At ENTRUST Solutions Group, weโ€™re proud to be an industry leader in engineering and consulting services - helping modernize, protect, and strengthen essential infrastructure across the country. If you enjoy taking ownership of your work, collaborating with innovative teams, and seeing your designs make a real-world impact, this role was built for you.

In this role, youโ€™ll work on engineering solutions for gas distribution and transmission systems, meter and gate stations, and natural gas pipelines. Youโ€™ll collaborate with senior engineers, gain exposure to new design challenges, and play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality projects. In this position, you'll work both independently and alongside seasoned mentors, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your technical expertise. Whether you're tackling new design challenges or collaborating with senior engineers, this is a great opportunity to grow professionally in an environment that values learning, innovation, and teamwork.

As a Project Engineer, youโ€™ll lead design efforts on mid-sized projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance. Youโ€™ll mentor junior engineers, coordinate with design teams, and deliver high-quality analyses and reviews. Youโ€™ll engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements, flag challenges to the Project Manager, and support business development. Your role also includes reviewing drawings, participating in quality control, and driving process improvementsโ€”all while maintaining a strong focus on precision and efficiency.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages innovation.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development.
  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and flexible work schedules.
  • This position pays between $90,000 and $110,000 annually and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in the pipeline industry or a related industry.
  • Experience in natural gas design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
