Job description

Title: Jr. Project Engineer - Data Center Construction / Fresh Graduate

Location: Onsite in Blue Ridge, VA

Duration: Long term Engagement

Provide essential project engineering coordination services to ensure smooth installation verification, documentation readiness, and engineering workflow execution under senior site leadership. This hands-on role supports construction project delivery by maintaining accurate records, facilitating cross-team alignment, and driving issue resolution in active construction environments.

Core Services & Deliverables

Engineering Workflow Support

Track and manage RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and clarifications through closure

Support engineering workflow execution and maintain action item trackers

Coordinate responses and ensure timely resolution of technical queries

Field Verification Support

Assist with installation checks, punch list creation, and deficiency tracking

Support readiness confirmations for system handovers and turnover packages

Conduct field walkthroughs with site leadership to validate installation quality

Documentation Package Upkeep

Maintain comprehensive project logs, trackers, and documentation repositories

Organize turnover inputs, testing artifacts, and commissioning records

Ensure documentation accuracy and completeness for project closeout

Progress & Reporting Support

Compile status updates, progress metrics, and action logs for site leadership

Prepare risk/issue summaries and escalation reports

Support weekly/monthly reporting cadence for stakeholders

Cross-Team Coordination

Facilitate alignment between engineering, construction, safety, and operations teams

Schedule and document cross-functional meetings and decision points

Drive accountability for action items across project disciplines

Required Qualifications

BS in Mechanical, Civil, Construction, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)

Proven documentation accuracy and organizational skills

Comfort working in active construction environments (PPE required)

Basic literacy reading engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents

Strong coordination and communication skills across technical and field teams

Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, MS Office, etc.)

Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings

Preferred Skills
